ROCKA FM is an online radio station based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Established in August 2021 – the station broadcasts in English. ROCKA FM is targeting “The Grown & Sexy”. Our music mix focuses on Soul, R&B, and Smooth Jazz. Other popular genres on the station are Kwaito, House, Hip-Hop, and Amapiano. ROCKA FM is about that warm and fuzzy feeling of nostalgia. We believe that behind every song are a thousand precious memories.
The name Rocka is derived from the Italian word Rocca which means – A rock. In the streets of Johannesburg, South Africa, the word Rocka also means “You’ve got the vibe”
Our slogan “For the love of great music” speaks to our passion for music. We love good music and so do our listeners. The music is timeless, ‘rare’, and is just so good – all day long! Ultimately, this is what sets us apart from everyone else.
Our presenters are live on Saturdays and Sundays between 06H00 and 24H00. This is part of our gradual rollout strategy to build the platform in stages. Weekdays are all about uninterrupted music.
ROCKA FM is poised to be the authority in Soul, R&B, and Smooth Jazz. These genres are considered, by some, to be less relevant in today’s world. Yet the streets have continuously proven otherwise.
